Funny, I always thought flapjacks were a pancake. I have a similar recipe called Oatmeal Bars but it doesn't use the syrup. I learnt after the first time to use parchment. I lift the whole thing out of the pan to cut it. I have added corn flour to my recipe to make it stick better as it seems to crumble too easily. I guess the syrup would aid in that area. I will try that.

did you know that the hubby loves to bake these now. Oh yeah, we have to stop and get some more of that golden syrup next time we go to Portland.
