You know you're getting older when...

1) Your eldest child goes to his first gig, (My Chemical Romance).

2) Your eldest child goes to his second gig, (Enter Shikari).

3) You spend your evening sipping tea in a hotel bar whilst your eldest son is at his second gig.

4) You don't notice that a button has come undone on your top thus revealing your blue, sexy bra.

5) No one else notices that a button has come undone on your top thus revealing your blue, sexy bra.

Yesterday saw the start of a two week break from school for the children as it is the Easter Holidays. I went in search of fresh yeast to make these. The lady in the bakery explained that for reasons unknown to her they weren't allowed to sell fresh yeast but she would sell me some. She took my money and disappeared into the bakery to get the yeast. I was so excited at the thought of my homemade buns when the lady returned empty handed to explain that they'd run out of yeast and were waiting for a delivery. Hopefully I'll have time to return today and they will have plenty in stock!

On our way home, I was with Mollie, Ben and Mollie's friend Shauna, we stopped off at White Rock, the sun was shining and the children rolled up their trousers and played in the water whilst I sat enjoying the sun wishing I'd bought my camera. These photographs were taken with my phone hence the poor quality.

You are YOUNG Beccy!!!

As for yeast, if you go to the bread counter in Tesco or Sainsbury's (and I know what a great relationship you have with the former......) they will GIVE you a little fresh yeast to make you bread!!

(They'll probably stop that now that I have blogged it. So get in there quickly!!)

Last weekend I went to watch my youngest son play a gig. Bryan and I were the oldest in the bar but no one reeally noticed us because there was a group of guys on a stag do all dressed as Borat. No, sadly not the green swim costume!

beccy I know I'm ancient as I have never even heard of those two bands. You've been in the Gresham then!!

They may not be the best photos but it's nice to see the children having a good time.

Sally, I tried Tesco and they bake from frozen, ready made food so no fresh yeast. Alas we don't have Sainsburys (if we did I wouldn't go near Tesco)!

How cool Barbara to have a son in a band.

I've been in the Gresham Mum!

Your post made me laugh. If you're going to flash your sexy blue bra anywhere, it might as well be the Gresham!

yeah, beccy you are young! just use sally's years if not...

thanks for the giggle with those 5 little statements at the top. enidd's sure no-one would notice her bra if it was embroidered with flashing leds.

Beccy, Beccy, Beccy . . . you will never get old so just chill.
Do what I do . . I still go to gigs and usually get tickets before my kids do. This way I am totally cool and if I didn't want to go to the gig in the first place I just sell the tickets on Ebay and tell the kids I had great time!

Ha, ha Hellojed at least everyone was too polite to stare!

I know I'm young enidd, trouble is I still feel about 20 and I have a son going to gigs which is a bit scary!

Welcome back Erik and very sensible words indeed!

There are old mums and young mums. You strike me as a young one. A lot of fun and one the kids don't mind introducing to their friends. I always thought I'd be that mum. Totally not though.

Beccy, this post was so funny! The part about you buying live yeast "illegally" was especially funny to me! I don't know why, but I was picturing the woman looking furtively around while taking your money and coming out with a little baggie of yeast.

Looks like you'll need to find yourself another dealer if this one's out of the good stuff! ;-)

Which by the way, proves you're NOT old, if you're out buying illegal goods! ;)

Dear beccy. I can't believe you were going to buy black market yeast. Where do you live again - are you sure you're not my neighbour? And hey. I've never worn a sexy bra, let alone a blue one! Yep, poor Mr moi.

Um, I don't even know who Chemical Romance is. Sad, I know.

You get two weeks out for Easter? Do your children attend a Christian school?

That water is beautiful. Is it cold?

I'm going over to get the recipe for the buns.

You know you're old when you don't need a sexy blue bra, but a harness instead!

You're NOT old!!

I'd have TOTALLY noticed your blue, sexy bra!!

Thanks Emma and I do consider myself a young Mum but as I commented ealier it's funny when your child is going to gigs!

Actually catwoman the bakery lady announced to the whole (very busy) shop that she wasn't meant to sell it to me but would!

I'd love to be your neighbour Miss Moi, I could lend you my blue, sexy bra!!!

Amy I wouldn't know them if it wasn't for Dillon!

I know Asha, but felt weird drinking tea waiting for my son!

Vicki I think 99.9% of Irish schools are Christian based but all the holidays are the same. In the UK there are only a few church led schools but they still have two weeks off over Easter, it's a natural break between the winter and summer terms.

LOL John, that's very good and I don't need a harness...yet.

Ah Stephanie, you are so sweet, mabe the clients of that hotel were too polite to look!

You seem like a young mom to me Beccy! I am a young mom still at least in the sense my kids (even the oldest) aren't embarresed to have me around yet. I hope to stay that way....
We only get one week here and we aren't allowed to call it Easter break anymore, the whole seperation of church and state here blah blah.... Even though it always happens around Easter since it was originally called Easter break now its spring break.
I like the idea of buying illegal yeast....wonder what thats all about?

I remember going to my first concert. sigh - seems so long ago. and I'm sad that no one noticed your button had popped revealing your sexy blue bra - (maybe someone did, but was just watching from afar)

Kila said...

You're still young.

I've become convinced the kids have 3-5 birthdays for every 1 of ours.

I would be so sad if no one noticed my sexy, blue bra.... if I had a sexy blue bra.

That's so funny Beccy, lol

Beccy said...

Steffi, I think I'll change the tittle to my post to You know you're getting OLDER when...

Terri, I'm off today to purchase that illegal substance!!! I only hope the buns are worth it.

Karmyn, at least I was wearing a sexy blue bra and not a washed out once was white now kind of grey bra, (everyone would've noticed that)!

I like your line of thought Kila.

Frannie you're one sexy chick everyone would notice you fullstop.

Thanks Sam.

Note to self: buy a blue, sexy bra. This post suggested I lack imagination, lol. Personally, can you imagine an OLD lady wearing a blue sexy bra? I rest my case ;).

But, ai yi yi, concert-going kids (without you there) IS a milestone! I hear ya...

Undercover yeast buyer...snicker...snicker...snorts :D.

Thanks Robin, so as long as I keep buying pretty coloured, sexy underwear I'm forever young. Yippee.
