Finito!

So I'm €40 and two cinema tickets worse off but Dillon, Mollie and Mollie's friend spent the day cutting down the remaining hedge and bagging the branches for me so my hands were saved more agony. I hope I can fit all the garden rubbish in my car! I spent the day clearing out and tidying the sheds. One shed is now full of rubbish (a trip to the dump) and children's toys we no longer need (ready for the church fete). This shed was originally the children's playhouse but they don't really use it anymore so I've also stored all the outdoor toys and scooters in there giving me more room in the bike/tool/garden equipment shed.

Today is yet again a beautiful, sunny day, we have been really blessed with this gorgeous weather while the children are on their Easter holidays, so we're going for a picnic with friends. I'm off to make the flapjacks and sandwiches, hope you have a good day.

It is all very well for those who are not working to want to come on the picnic but what about us at work, we have a greater need to come on a piccyniker in stead of having to spend beautiful days trying to get the fan adjusted just so so that it does not blow all the papers one is working on, orf ones desk. Love

a picnic with flapjacks! now, that's my type of picnic!

I'm glad you got some help with the gardening! If you hands get damaged, who would make all the flapjacks?

Dear beccy. Holy freakin' shite! And this isn't even your hedge? Now I understand why your mum and sister are getting cranky at you for not saying anything. and you do this every spring? Blimey! You must be the best neighbour in the world.

Oh I DO hope we get similar weather soon - I'm so sick of the cold and grey that we've suffered through the last two weeks. I don't love raking and cleaning the yard, but I do love it when it's clean and ready for the new shoots to appear.

And I think I may have to use your method for getting my hedge trimmed!

Beccy,
I agree, something must be done. You can't deal with that every year.
Enjoy your picnic!
(I don't think I've mentioned to you in about 24 hours how jealous I am of your weather!)

Even if I bribed my two they wouldn't do that! Glad to hear the weather is still lovely, ours is finally picking up. It's supposed to be 17 on Saturday. I'll be near the mountains so I don't think I will see it that high but oh well!

I can't wait until I have kids old enough to pay off to do my dirty work!!!!

Well, that's what kids are for: chores and picnics.
PS: I hope you were wearing work gloves.

That's a real spring clean Beccy. With a houseful of children I'd want to tutn the unused playhouse into my own little space with a comfy chair and pile of books.

Sounds like a fun-filled day. I still haven't tried the flap-jack recipe but plan on it soon.

Thank you for all your comments. I had a great day as you can see from todays post.

Cookiecrumb, what are work gloves? (no, although I do have one lurking in the shed)!

Barbara, that's a very tempting idea!
