Help, I'm in a state of shock!
I looked onto the Irish blog awards to vote for my favourite Irish blogs and as I scrolled through there was little old me shortlisted for best newcomer. I was so excited I nearly peed my pants!
I know some of you dear readers nominated me but I never in my wildest dreams thought I'd get onto the shortlist so thank you very much.

Don't mean to pee on your big moment, but that's the long list?
Getting onto the long list apparently required only two votes.
This current voting round will reduce all the nominees down to the actual short list.
By which time my blog, like most of them, will have vanished from the lists.
Then, apparently, some mystical anonymous judges will do their Simon Cowell thing to the blogs on the short list, and the winners are announced sometime in March.
Good luck anyway! If you make it through the popularity contest round, then it's only a matter of identifying the secret judges and bribing them!

I'm headed over there right this minute to vote. Just wanted to thank you for continuing to visit my place even though I've been out of touch for awhile...and will be for most of February. Your title always makes me want a cup of hot tea.
Sorry that some people felt I was being negative.
I actually think the long list is the most important, as it gives people a chance to see a wide cross-section of blogs they wouldn't normally encounter.
And there's that 'taking part, not the winning' thing too.
What does it matter who wins anyway? This is web 2.0, after all. Everyone wins!
