Ben's latest love

Ben has developed a real passion for cats. There is a cat who hangs around his school field and Ben loves to play with him. Then there is the very friendly cat who hangs out at the tennis club, Ben would love to bring him home and doesn't believe me when I say that he already belongs to someone else. Then there is white bears choice of birthday cake, definitely influenced by Ben. Ben was having a friend over to play today and I said I'd bake a cake decorated with lots of coloured balls, (the only downside to white bears cake was that it only had two coloured balls on it). Ben asked me to make another kitty cake but with lots of coloured balls on it, he was very pleased with the result.

I hardly think I'd qualify for that Mum, you know I prefer to bake than buy, less sugar, no e numbers or presevatives etc.

We had a cat once catwoman many moons ago when I was pregnant with Mollie. She was a gorgeous little kitten and we named her Murphy. She used to follow us whenever we went out and we often had to chase her home then run and hide around the corner. we lost her twice but always found her. Days after she had visited the vet to be sterilised she ran away again and was never seen again despite our looking everywhere. The following day her bill arrived from the vet £50 and no cat so we said never again. I am not a cat person more of a dog person and hubby is not an animal person. Also we tend to visit my family in the UK for up to a month and I would hate to put an animal in kennels. We had a dog growing up and Mum would never leave her so no trips abroad for Mum for 14 years.

You are nice to your children Beccy. Baking a cake is one thing, but decorating it to birthday standard each time..........

Wow!

Now that is dedication!

Most impressive!! Cute, too.
(I can't bear to travel without Bean Sprout, BTW, and since he's only three, I figure I've got another 11 years or so of being stuck on the ground.)

Thanks Barbara.

Sally I'd rather bake than clean or iron and it's fun to do something different.

Thanks Steffi.

Cookiecrumb at least you live in a large country and can see a lot without having to leave the island!

Umm...yeah. The cake is adorable, but I can't believe how many pussies and balls are all over it. Nice porno cake, Mom.

Thanks Tonya, Jenny and Heather.

Kevin only you could say that! Thankfully Ben's too young to understand what you're inferring, lol.
