A Near Miss

When catching a plane on Christmas eve it is not a good idea to leave the light on inside your car thus causing the battery to run flat. This is an even worse idea if your husband rides a motorbike and you are a one car family.

Our flight was at 9.30am and we discovered the dead as a doormouse car at 7am. The airport is 45-60 minute drive away which left us 30 minutes maximun to sort out our problem.

My solution was to suggest ringing for a taxi, calling Joules parents to give us a lift as well as hoping that Tim-Joules brother, who was driving us to the airport in our car (because we knew the battery would be flat after a week) and his car is way too small (vintage sports car) to fit us in-would have jump leads.

Joules solution is to swear, swear and swear a bit more whilst refusing to listen to my suggestions...and then swear a little more.

Fortunately for us Tim did have jump leads, we took the new port tunnel and got to the airport in 30 minutes with plenty of time to spare before our flight.

So, who left the light on?

Nightmare! I have to admit I would have taken Joules approach with tears as well as swearing!

So has the culprit been uncovered?

(Hope you enjoy the book too)

Ah John I'm wondering who my readers would blame before I reveal the culprit!

Hmmm, tough question. The most likely answer would be Joules, but I am gonna say you did?

Seems you did.

Well, since you say Joules drives a motorbike, I am going to guess that you did! Sorry! Unless Dillon has his learners already maybe?

Taylor got the same "toy" that you mentioned in the other post and we have hardly seen her since.

Beccy remember my magnet 'I didn't say it was your fault I said I'm going to blame you'! so must have been Joules!

Whew, glad you made it in time!

I'll guess that Joules left the light on.

I would have a heart attack. I have some kind of obsessive compulsive thing about flights and tickets.

yikes! i would have sprung for a taxi, too.

i say the kids were playing in the car and left the lights on.

glad you made your flight.

If in doubt, blame the kids!

Sorry for spelling your name wrong again Beccy! I'm losing it. I know it bugs the hell out of me when people call me Debbie or spell it Debra... so many apologies! Again, glad you're back BeCCY! ;-)

My guess is Joules, by his swearing.... Had it been you, he would possibly have been more polite about it all???!!!!

since you were suggesting and Joules was swearing--- I have to say you. sorry there-- but I also remember a key incident with you as well.

Glad it all got sorted out and you were able to get there with time to spare!
