I'm back...

I have a secret to admit...I don't really like this NaBloPoMo.

There is a really good reason for my not liking it...my blogline posts have quadrupled and it puts me off blogging. Currently I have 383 unread posts and not enough time to read them so instead of even trying I've been turning off the computer and getting creative instead.

So today I'm going to mark them all as read then start again, I love reading your posts but only have so many hours in the day and most of them can't be spent blogging!

Don't you just hate it when this happens?

Hehe I know what you mean Beccy - and some of the posts are just posts for the sake of posting... not even very interesting! Some... not all!

Yes, I hate when that happens, it's even worse when you don't notice it slide of the counter and find your baby playing in it and using it as cleanser and shampoo! ;-)

I know what you mean too,Beccy!Blogging need a lot of time...and I love to read in your blog too ;O).

Nice picture!Have a nice Monday!

i'm with you---tht's why i don't partake. i decided a while back not to post on weekends (or at least sundays). takes the pressure off, and gives me back my life!

oops yes hate it when that happens, even more so now as our kitchen has carpet, not my choice but there you go!

I normally post every day except Sunday, so NaBloMe really only means I'm doing a Sunday Service for a month.

And Deborah, all my posts are just for the sake of posting, they always have been.

I understand Beccy! I have about 150 in my blog roll and I have stopped even looking at it on weekends atleast! It's scary!:D
Take it easy. Some blogger only visit whom they see in their blog comment box, which seems like a great idea to me.
Happy Monday toyou. When you are already stressed, even small things like broken egg push you overboard!!Hahaha!!

I understand, too. I've been reading an awful lot lately, and neglecting other things (like work and school!)
I guess the egg wouldn't count for a 30 second rule, huh? :)

I tend to find that 90% of my blog-roll are out on the piss all weekend, so I get very few comments! Strange that!!

ChrisB said...

Oh dear I might come into the posting for the sake of it category but then I never really have anything of real interest to post about so I would never write anything! Better that I just continue as I am so you know what I'm doing :)

Beccy, you don't even wanna know how many "unread" posts are on my bloglines right now...I DON'T WANNA KNOW (meaning, yep, it's time to clear it :/).

My blogging/reading time has gotten shorter and shorter; I really could do it for a living, though, I enjoy entering into people's lives all over the world! How else would I have a friend in the UK? :)

Lisa's egg comment cracked me up!

Oooo, I punned and didn't even mean to! :)

I once had a whole carton of eggs fall out of the fridge - now that was a big mess.

My dog loves me when I do this! He makes a very good mop! :)

There is absolutely no way I can comment on every NaBloPoMo post. I'm with Robin, I don't want to even look. I know how you feel.

NaBloPoMan breeds mediocrity and it is a stupid word. I am not fond of abbreviations.

sallywrites said...

I agree. I've selected mine on Bloglkines. That's fine for me!!

As it turns out, this post of yours is very meaningful. It strikes a chord with a lot of your readers, including me.

Ok - Was being dim! Have just looked up the nablopomo - and now understand. I had thought it was a new Bloglines type thing.....Yes... My posts have increased enormously and now I understand why! It's too much isn't it? And noone really has THAT much to say of interest!! I like fewer better thgouht out posts. Let's all go back to normal. Not that I did it anyway because I missed the hype!!

Jacqueline Meldrum said...

I agree, that it is too much, I am glad I didn't sign up, i have been way too busy! Must try to catch up nowI

Agree with you. And I'm not for posting just for the sake. Deborah's right. Well, blogging shouldn't be a rat race. I write when I have something to say that I believe might interest others. Writing (or posting for that matter) anything that might otherwise appear nonsense may be worse than not writing (posting) at all.

I'll see your 383 unread and raise it to 493 unread. I think I need to mark all read, too.

And that egg? My son's favorite thing to do. He was very quiet the other day, so I yell for him. He brings the empty egg carton into the living room with him. Not only did he crack 11 eggs, but he cracked them IN the refrigerator. He did leave one intact, though.

He is so very thoughtful! I really should have taken pictures and posted about this.

I'm having the same issue as you. I can't possibly read everything and I think I got my bloglines empty once in the last couple of weeks. And even if I read them all I can't possibly comment on all of them. Leaves me zero time for my own bloggging.

Hate it when that happens! It's so slimy to try to wipe up.

Tonya said...

yeah that sucks when that happens and I have no idea what naBloPoMo is... lol I have not been blogging much lately!

Scrambled eggs, sashimi style. And I hate nblopoo as well - better quality than quantity unless you're talented enough to do both. And I'm not.

Anonymous said...

yeah - that's when I just skim on Bloglines and don't necessarily comment.

and hey - Fun Monday had 50 participants today - talk about too much to read through....my eyes hurt.

Kila said...

I've never done Bloglines--who needs that kind of pressure? LOL

It's funny that my kids are making eggs, on their own, for a "bedtime snack", just as I arrived here and saw your photo!

Emma in Canada said...

I never use my bloglines. I've been really bad about reading blogs too, probably because I'm writing!

Carla said...

Well, I don't even know what a blogline is. I guess I probably haven't had the time to find out. Yep, totally understand.

my4kids said...

The only reason I'm taking part is I planned on posting about my kids up till there birthdays anyway. My blog has always been more my journal anyway and I post the posts I'm doing right now for my own sake, so I don't forget since for some reason I still have a pretty good memory for there younger years right now. I can go back and see what I wrote at this time in our lives.
I'm having a hard time keeping up with posts myself and to be honest not getting through most of my regulars lately.

I'm so hopped up on senseless MaBloMe posts that I just can't get enough. I've now taken to commenting just for the sake of commenting.

frannie said...

I understand! don't feel bad about not reading every post of every friend. we all understand!

we should all take your advice and turn off the computer sometimes.

If a non blogger can butt in, I know that Chrisb spends much time agonising over what to post and she works quite hard because she enjoys it [the post] and the involvement now she has retired and yes it does involve a lot of time reading and commenting. Her attitude is that if you are kind enough to comment on hers you may well deserve a comment on yours even if only to encourage. I am a lurker and there are many blogs that are really interesting and well written, some by obvious professionals. However there are some that are posted for the sake of posting. It could be the reason why I am a lurker not a publisher but thank you all for the entertainment you have been giving me and treats to come. EmBee

ChrisB said...

beccy a very long comment from 'the lurker' himself you are honoured.

Being gone this weekend meant I have way too many posts to read now...

I'm with you. It's too hard.

Pamela said...

I'm relieved that I didn't join. I didn't know you had to read them all too. That is stressful. Blogging should be fun.

Alix said...

I know what you mean Beccy, I was holding my own quite well until we went away for the weekend and I came back to 5 days worth of posts by so many people. I love reading them though so I will do my best, my have to lurk though!

Anonymous said...

I agree. And since we are celebrating Thanksgiving here next week, I feel completely overwhelmed just trying to post each day. "I'm sorry for my lax commenting, don't take it personally" should be my blog header! ;)

Amy W said...

For someone who is always behind on reading my blogs...this is stressful for me too!

Barbara said...

I had to google NaBloPoMo as I hadn't heard of it before. You'd have to be a little crazy to sign up for that wouldn't you? I came home to 1000+ posts on my google reader and am lucky to have the time to spend a few days going through them.

~ej said...

i guess i'm crazy since i signed up for nablopomo this year....;)
i have opted to go thru a couple of blogs a day, but i'm still behind.
and i hate broken eggs....isn't it sugar or salt that you use to clean them up??
