What's in a name?

I have been very amiss lately in thanking kind bloggers for their packages, so here goes. Thanks for the smoked pigeon breast John, it has to be the most inventive prize I've been sent but my taste buds weren't quite so keen. Thank you CPA Mom for the box of goodies. Finally a big thank you to Elena Jane and Laurie who have kept my supplies of Junior Mints topped up. I am hugely aware that some of you are still waiting for prizes, as I am making these prizes they are taking a while to get sent out. I have to go to a special shop to get supplies and have not had the time yet to make this trip. I just want to reassure you all that I haven't forgotten.

Amy tagged me for this meme:

"You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog."

Funnily enough I have the same middle name as Amy but unlike her I quite like my middle name, in fact as a child I positively preferred it to my first name. Talking of names and children it's funny how most children don't like their names. Dillon hates his, Ben doesn't like his but we got one right because Mollie loves her name. When we chose their names we decided to give them Irish middle names Dillon Liam, Mollie Aisling (Ash Ling) and Ben Oisin (Uh Sheen).

So back to the meme:-

L=Lighthearted, I'm definitely an optimist and see that glass half full. I try to enjoy life and laugh a lot.

O=Ornery, as in stubborn but my marriage has taught me compromise and I'm quite good at it but if it means that much to me I won't budge!

U=Ungainly, clumsy as a child and an adult...did I tell about the seven bruises I managed to get last Saturday night, not to mention the two scrapes I got yesterday from Dillon's bicycle.

I=Insecure, though not as much as I used to be and that is due to my wonderful husband, thanks Joules.

S=Shy, in new situations and places where I don't know anyone. I feel that I'm a bit boring and am conscious not to talk about my children all the time.

E=Easy going, I tend to go with the flow...it's just not worth getting worked up about things you can't change...unless it involves my local grocery store or my over protectiveness as a parent then it's knives at dawn.

I love your children's Irish middle names.

If it makes you feel any better, my husband is one big bruise from head to toe. Being in wood working and construction, doesn't help him any.

BTW~ You are so not boring! :)

I'll e-mail my childrens first names one day, but their middle one's are (from the top) Marie, Sian (the midwife who delivered her, she was Welch) Clare (can't think why) and Sean...

There are so many beautiful Irish names. Can't decide what to call the next!

And there was me thinking you didn't like your middle name- that was not the impression I got when you were a child and here you are saying you preferred it I'm glad I got one right!

i love those irish names.

and my mental image of you is neither ornery nor ungainly.

let's pick two new ones for you:

O is for optimistic! and cheerful! as you always seem to be.

and U is for understanding. you seem to have a lot of empathy and understanding for the rest of us who frequent your blog.

I love the Irish middle names. I had a huge list of Irish first names for both my kids - but somehow we ended up with both Hebrew names for our children. (I am assuming the name, Ben, is anyway).

We gave our kids middle names after family members.

Aisling was one of my names for Sophie. That or Niamh. Obviously I was overruled!

Your mum tagged me for this one, I should do it tonight.

Like I wrote on Amy's I love the name Louise. And, just like you, I'm the clumsiest in this family, always bumping into things and always the one with bruises!

So, your middle name is Lucille? Ha. Great idea for a MeMe. Enjoyed yours.
Since you are still receiving Junior Mints, I think I'm putting out the word that my car went missing.
