It's been a busy week here in Bristol and I'm just too tired to tell you all about it. Yesterday we had a small family get together for my dad. The food was delicious (apart from the diabetic birthday cake I baked), the children got on great (despite either having never met or only met a few times), some of the adults drank lots of alcohol, we saw some hot air balloons from the fiesta, a neighbour let off fireworks (not for us) at the end of the evening and I taught my Uncle David this Irish, pog mo thoin. I think mum is going to post photos of the soiree as I didn't take any.

Ta gra agam duit a freisin!
I saw the pics, you have had a great fun in the sun!!:))
Your dad looks happy and kids are smiling and stuffed!!:D
glad you had a good time!
ha! isn't that where the Pogues got their name?
that's the only irish i know, except for dia dhuit. (dia dhuit, beccy!)
My dad taught me that as my first Irish phrase when I was about 4. Not that I have many more to add!
A diabetic birthday cake? Isn't that a contraction of terms?
We did get to see the cute dress you were wearing! Loved it.
I also saw the pics - looks like it was a good time!
dad and mom always told us we were mostly Irish. However, my genealogy studies haven't proven that to be the case.
I saw the nice pictures of your family party in your Mum´s blog.I like it and I´m sure you all had a good time together!
That diabetic Birthday Cake is delicious and to those of you who think it a misnomer, it shows you are not diabetic. Thanks Beccy or whoever. Love
I've shifted to http://alfaking.com. Please update your link. Thanks.
Looking forward to hearing about it. :)
Love the Irish!
We have a restaurant about 3 hours from here called, Pog Mahones. Didn't have a clue what it meant until several years ago.
Glad you had a good time.
My favorite Irish phrase!
Wow! Looks like you were busy while I was gone!!!! I wish I got to travel as much as you do! Take me with you next time, will you?
How exactly does one bake a diabetic birthday cake? Not that I need to know...but I am intrigued.
Nothing like a little party to wear you out for days, huh!
I'd love to hear about the diabetic birthday cake too, do you use applesauce?
So glad I wasn't the only one to be a little later posting their Fun Monday. :) I'm in great company.
