A Family Gathering

It's been a busy week here in Bristol and I'm just too tired to tell you all about it. Yesterday we had a small family get together for my dad. The food was delicious (apart from the diabetic birthday cake I baked), the children got on great (despite either having never met or only met a few times), some of the adults drank lots of alcohol, we saw some hot air balloons from the fiesta, a neighbour let off fireworks (not for us) at the end of the evening and I taught my Uncle David this Irish, pog mo thoin. I think mum is going to post photos of the soiree as I didn't take any.

My dad taught me that as my first Irish phrase when I was about 4. Not that I have many more to add!

A diabetic birthday cake? Isn't that a contraction of terms?

dad and mom always told us we were mostly Irish. However, my genealogy studies haven't proven that to be the case.

That diabetic Birthday Cake is delicious and to those of you who think it a misnomer, it shows you are not diabetic. Thanks Beccy or whoever. Love

We have a restaurant about 3 hours from here called, Pog Mahones. Didn't have a clue what it meant until several years ago.
Glad you had a good time.

How exactly does one bake a diabetic birthday cake? Not that I need to know...but I am intrigued.

Nothing like a little party to wear you out for days, huh!

I'd love to hear about the diabetic birthday cake too, do you use applesauce?
