Fun Monday #27

Amy is hosting this weeks Fun Monday and has asked to see our fridge and we don't even have to clean it. I can do that!

The outside of my fridge freezer is covered in magnets mostly of places we have visited and photo's and drawings. That photo of Joules and I was taken about eight or nine years ago when we went to a Titanic themed party. Joules dressed up in the captains dinner suit!

This mosaic picture was made by Mollie when she was seven and was chosen to be laminated.

Monday is my shopping day and the fridge is empty so I took this photo on Friday. As you see my fridge is missing some parts. The glass shelf broke and I removed one of the salad trays to fit in milk and meat. On a Monday the bottom of the fridge is full to bursting with all the fresh fruit and vegetables I buy. There are aways yoghurts in our fridge, I buy about 30 a week and everyone is limited to one a day. The next shelf up is full of jars, homemade jams and mincemeat, mayonnaise, mustard, relish and my big jar full of mixed seeds. The top shelf (unseen due to very small space available to take photo) is full of butter, cheeses, ham and salami.
The fridge door contains eggs (free range), sauces and dressings (Dillon can't eat salad without drowning it in a sauce or dressing), milk and juice.

I always enjoy refrigerator artwork. I wonder when that custom started. We seem to be doing that worldwide. The pengiuins are great.

Love the outside of the fridge, looks very similar to mine!
The inside is very neat, I know it's easier when it's closer to shop day.

I don't think enough credit is given to the guy who figured out how to grow lettuce in plastic bags.

Misslionheart, drank all in Cork at the weekend, celebrating a recent win!!!

Mum, I didn't touch a thing before taking the photo.

Sally, it's much worse when I've done the shopping.

MJD, I keep meaning to sort through it but never seem to find the time...too busy blogging!

Lisa, I like it to be empty come shopping day then I don't have to waste time rotating stuff!

WT, well spotted, he must be some guy!

Asha, it's fun to have all the magnets from our holidays.

Swampy, I've checked they're definitely not there!

Two things strike me about this post...
You have Hellmanns! We can't get Hellmanns on the west coast - it is called Best Foods, but it is the same.

The second thing is thank you so much for clearing up the mincemeat mystery for me. I have never known what was in mincemeat and I don't think my mother did either because she told me when I was very young (and I always remembered her explanation) that it was a mix of bad meat. She must not of liked mincemeat - it sounds good to me (your recipe, that is).

Great post! Have a good week!

Beccy, love all your artwork and magnets. The penguins are real cute.
Jealous of the free range eggs. They definetly taste better.
Your fridge looks clean and neat

Happy Monday!

Julie, I don't like salami but Mollie loves it.

Catwoman, I think I could love a newer, bigger one even more!

Sayre, I had some organic, freshly laid eggs recently straight from a farm, they were delicious.

Thanks Jennieboo, all our eggs are brown here.

Beckie, I only buy Hellmans mayonnaise. I really recommend the mincemeat, very tasty.

Thanks Christine, I did clean it when I returned from the UK last week because Joules managed to spill everything in it.

That is very tidy. Mine is usually a little better looking after going to the grocery store since I have to take out a bunch of stuff to make things fit. Although to be honest my fridge is never really nice to look at. If you catch it at the right time you will also find the door with more handprints then pictures on it. I was that thing constantly but its still got little Maddie prints.

I love that mosaic! Your fridge looks so orderly!
I love brown eggs too! My grandpa LOVED mincemeat pie! I need to try it someday.

I love salami. Great...I'm hungry now.

I hardly ever see brown eggs...

Melanie said...

That sure is a lot of yogurt!

Beccy said...

Marmite Breath, I feel that way about Sainsburys!

Terri, I think all my junk on the fridge hides the handprints.

Katybug and I think white eggs are pretty.

Nikki, I have some, why don't you pop over!

Thanks Steffi but a bit sparse!

Amy they are so normal to me!

Melanie I spend so much each week on yoghurts!

Are you going to post photos of your after shopping experience? If it's like ours it gets all full and yummy looking then the kids decide to snack on all the new stuff.

I think you look neat and tidy and LOVE those eggs. :)

I think you win for having the most stuff ON your fridge!

Wonderful fridge art. I like seeing the different labels from different countries.

Your household eats as much yogurt as mine! If I had to limit my kids to one a day they'd perish (only Buttercup - she usually eats 2).

I love that mosaic! How wonderful!

I have to limit my kids' yogurt consumption too - they'd eat it for every meal if I let them!

Hmmm...it never occurred to me to have a shopping day. Around here it's more like "oops, we're out of food, time to go shopping!"

I love all the artwork.

Beccy, I broke ALL my shelves from overloading them. If you want a replacement shelf do what I did - had some made of thick perspex at a plastics workshop. They work great.

I'm loving the mosaic picture!

I LOVE the outside of your fridge. I miss not being able to put things on the outside of my fridge. Looks well stocked and very neat and organized on the inside!

Now I am really glad I didn't participate this week. You say you didn't clean your fridge...I wish my fridge was as clean as your is when it's dirty! It's one of those tasks that I can't seem to find time for...

Pamela said...

thats alot of stuff on the outside before we even venture in. curious as to what you might have in Ireland as compared to what is in mine. I recognize the MAYO!!!!

Anonymous said...

You have a surprise waiting for you at my place.

Kila said...

LOL, I also have a one-yogurt-per-day rule, otherwise each one of my guys would eat five or more per day.

my fridge looks the same on the outside - but yours is way, way , way tidy inside.

Lisa, when I've stocked up the fridge is so full anyone is scared to take something out incase it all falls out!

Tiggerlane, a prize yey, shame it's all thrown all haphazzardly.

Thanks Debi, I can't throw anything the children make away.

Karmyn mine would eat 3/4 a day each if I let them. I tell them to snack on fruit, no limits on fruit!

Melissa, it's funny because I'm not that fond of yoghurt and rarely eat it.

Susan, I try to only go once a week other I spend way too much money.

Theotherbear, I've have been meaning to replace the shelve...just never seem to get around to it.

Thanks Jenny.

Thanks Joy, I must admit each shelf has it's uses (I'm still trying to teach the rest of the family)!

Heather J, I did clean it a few weeks ago when hubby managed to spill juice everywhere and I mean everywhere therefore it got a decent clean not just a quick wipe!

Pamela, I think the main difference is how small my fridge is compared to those on the other side of the Atlantic.

Popping over shortly Swampy.

Kila, I know, I can't believe how much I spend each week on yoghurts.

Thanks La bellina mammina, I have to organise things due to lack of space.
