Another holiday...and a competition.

I know I have some of you may think I have the life of Riley, before I even finish posting my memories of France I'm off on my travels again. This time I'm heading off to Rosslare in County Wexford. A friend of mine has a holiday house there and has invited us down for a few days. The collage below shows the beach we'll (hopefully) be spending lots of time on. These photos were taken in August 2004, do you see how empty the beach is? Bliss.

Before I go I'd like to host a competition. Dillon's scout leader has taken Dillon and two other scouts (along with three leaders) cycling for a few days. They will be camping on beaches, and carrying all they need in small rucksacks on their backs. There will be a prize for the person who guesses what item Dillon insisted goes into his rucksack above things like sleeping bag, water and clean underwear, as well as a prize for the funniest/most inventive/answer we like best. I hope there are lots of answers for me to judge when I return at the weekend and no mum and Mollie you can't enter because you know the answer!

How about a satelite operated can opener/mp3 player/GPS system? Tthat doubles up as ahat's what I'd want if I went camping!

Those are all good guesses. Hmmm..a roll of toilet paper.

I am going to say CAMERA.

and why his camera? Not to take interesting nature shots or animals along the way - but to take pictures of his camping buddies sleeping (you know, those pictures with mouths open and drool hanging out). Dillon wants to blackmail them later.

wow! I thought of several answers and they were taken already!!!

something to remember Ben by??

can we enter more than once?

if so, I say flapjacks!

frannie said...

another guess-- hair product for his new 'do?

A pillow that attachs to his bike seat - to pad his bum? I know if I were biking that far I'd want one of those!

Well Dillon clearly didn't pack his embarrassment in that rucksack because I sense it is somewhere around here, waiting in the wings, ready to be posted for everyone in the world to see.

enidd thinks dillon wanted to pack a standard lamp (with a nice beige shade with tassles), a 1974 copy of women's own magazine, and a thong (black leather, studded).

Ipod or cell phone???

Have fun Beccy!

THINK you have the life of Riley!! Dillon packed a camera!! He takes after his family!

...But the real story is he smuggled all those tortoise eggs away from Gramdma and is taking them back to the beach where they can be hatched and liberated!

Have a good trip. Did you ever find the missing mints?

(FYI- I moved to Typepad!)

I tried to bribe your mum, to no avail!

Well I'll hazard a guess that he either took your losing Lottery ticket or a blanket he's had since he was a little buachaill...

Dang, I was gonna say Junior Mints! I am almost certain that's what it would be. But I will make a new guess and say he is bringing...a can of 'fix a flat' Just in case he ends up with a flat tire. I dunno. Or maybe one of those nifty hats that has the places to insert drinks on either side and a straw angled conveniently to his mouth. That would be cool...

I would try this one but honestly my brain is to fried!
Izzak would always insist on his trusty pocket knife though or his leatherman.

Also I love the beach pictures and I'm so jealous of you going on another trip!

Beccy, I just love the collage look of your photos. I guess I should really get into Picasa. *sigh*

Oh, and I have no idea what the answer to your contest could be. My kids pack things like extra books and YuGiOh cards. :)

The beach pictures look lovely. I'll have to think about those three items. Hmm...I'll get back to you on that. But I bet one is a mp3 player ;-)

I am thinking it was a didgeridoo, and a coon skin cap. It's a whole Daniel Boone/Aboriginal men in the wilderness together thing.

I'm ready to link up now. I went to Dunnes and bought me a pinny. I don't usually wear one, but never being one to miss a party and all that!

(Post is not for the faint hearted)
