Pets.

Maybe I'm a mean mother in only letting my children have pet fish. Until two weeks ago Molllie wanted a guinea pig for her birthday and we had decided to get her one as she's wanted one for two years. One shopping trip and one pair of boots later and her mind was changed. Instead Mollie and Ben have started collecting internet pets. Pop over, say hello, play with their pets, I'm just pleased that they have decided to make up for a lack of pets in their life by going overboard with internet pets as it means less real pets in our house and I'm sure I'd end up looking after them all as I do the fish.

It seems to be Mother's Day everywhere except here in Ireland and the UK (we celebrated Mothering Sunday in March). So I'd just like to wish all mothers everywhere a very Happy Mother's Day. I hope you all get spoilt rotten and have a lovely day.

You got out of that one quite well; look at me I have ended up with the expensive tortoises!! You lost your guinea pig to the fox if I recall

Well, that means you get to have a cleaner house....I can't ever seen to keep up with the dog hair laying around.

I went over and said hello to both kids blogs....too cute. I used to have a monkey myself - but it messed up my template so I got rid of it.

Virtual pets sound like the best option, as you'd probably end up having to keep real ones alive anyway!

Roll with the internet pets!
I have cats and love them to bits, but I am always chasing the cat hair, although it is easier to do on wooden floors!
Boy, oh boy did I get a fright when I visited winedeb's blog . I saw her mother's day wishes and panicked! But yes, it has already been celebrated here in Scotland too! Phew!

Internet pets? Whatever will they think of next?! Probably a good thing too to teach kids responsibilities.

Oh crap. I just left a message on Mollie's blog, not sure if she looks at the blogs of people who leave her messages, but have her avoid mine! You know, due to that one post.

When my son was three, my husband somehow conned me into getting fish. Y'know, for our son. I hated them. They're slimy and they always magically seem to die when my husband is out of town.

Anyway, I had finally gotten down to just one fish, when our neighbors knocked on our door, frantic because they were moving and they couldn't bring themselves to flush live fish, and...didn't we have a fish tank?

That was almost three years and one move ago, and I still have her eight gigantic goldfish. I won't even discuss the animals with fur that inhabit my tiny home. I would love internet pets!

do virtual goldfish turn upside down and float at the top of the tank?

ah, do you not want a dog, really? to dig your garden, destroy your grass, shed all over your house, crowd you out of the bed, fart disgustingly in the middle of a dinner party, and every now and then upchuck on the down comforter that cost you $99 and you can't get the smell out even after paying the dry cleaner $35 to clean it?

ah, come on. you have no idea what you're missing.
