On the couch

OK so my brain had a little break when I answered one of those questions yesterday and I told you about the highest temperature I had experienced whilst in sunnier climes, in fact I was meant to tell you about my highest temperature. To be honest I don't know my exact highest temperature but it was after giving birth to Dillon, emergency section nearly three days after my waters broke and after two days in labour. That first night Dillon slept like a baby (duh) but I was frozen and asked for more blankets. The nurse took one look at me, took my temperature, took away my blankets, put a fan right next to me spewing out cold air, told me to drink lots of water and called a doctor. I had a temperature, I was so delirious I can't tell you what it was. Apparently I had an internal infection and was put on antibiotics. I was still feeling frozen (but sweating like a pig). That was the coldest night I can recall, I did ask again for more blankets but they refused.

So I've agreed to be interviewed by Catwoman and Frannie, the first five questions were put to me by Catwoman:

1. What most prized possession would you be willing to give up if your sacrifice would bring world peace?

To be honest I don't have many physical prized possessions because I'm not really a materialistic person. The one prized possession I do have is my wedding and engagement rings, they have been in my family for at least four generations and I feel very honoured to have been given them (thanks mum). I love the way they look and feel, I also love that they have been worn by my mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Much as I love them I would be prepared to give them up for world peace.

2. Which celebrity do you most wish to be related to, and why?

Charlotte Church
, we'd have some fun nights out drinking vodka and partying till dawn. I have watched her grow up in the eyes of the media and have grown to admire the way she handles life. She refuses to behave in a certain way, ie: lose weight, not get drunk, be super skinny and basically conform to that celebrity lifestyle. Now in her twenties she is settled in her native Wales, is madly in love, has a baby on the way and hosts a hilarious TV show.

3. What has most surprised you about being a mother?

How it changed me for the better, I am now more patient, less stubborn and able to compromise. I was also overwhelmed by how much I could love another being after my children were born.

4. What was your craziest childhood fantasy? (for example, I was convinced I was adopted and that I had superpowers).

I used to tell my sister that when she was asleep I flew out the window and lived a life in the clouds. I was up there with three friends and we lived in a castle which had everything us children required and more. However much Sam argued with me I was adamant I flew away to the clouds each night.

5. If you had to join the witness relocation program and had to assume a new identity, what would your chosen name be, where would you live and what would you do?

My chosen name would be Emma Walker, because after some research those are fairly common names in New Zealand which is where I would live. I chose New Zealand because (from what I have seen on TV) it is a beautiful country that offers all I could want: sun, sea, snow, good standard of living, nice food, easygoing lifestyle, laid back charm. I guess I would continue to blog along with having barbeque's, swimming in my pool, sipping vodka in the evening sunshine...

The following questions are from Frannie.

1. If you could have any super power what would it be? (I'm not going to give examples because I don't want you to be limited by my imagination.)

I actually don't know that I would like the responsibility of having a superpower. If I could have the power to obtain world peace and an end to poverty that would be great.

2. What is the one thing you can not resist?

The feeling of the sun on my skin. I know it's not good for me and I will grow into a wrinkly old hag, in my defence we don't get much sun here and I do wear sun cream.

3. If you could go back in time and relive your life over again with the knowledge you now have, would you and why or why not?

No I wouldn't. All in all I've enjoyed my life so far, there are a few little things I regret doing or saying but they've helped shape me into the person I am today and I quite like me.

4. What is one skill (real- not super power) that you wish you had?

DIY. Being married to someone who has no DIY skills and living in a different country to my dad means I have 1001 101 small DIY jobs waiting to be done around this house. The fact that they are smallish jobs and would cost a fortune to pay someone to do means I'm living in hope the skills fairy will sprinkle some DIY fairy dust over me real soon.

5. Hot dog! you just won the lottery! What is the first frivolous thing you will blow money on?

My gut reaction is to say a shower but then I don't think that a shower is frivolous. I do have a shower but it only dribbles out a little bit of water and will not sit in it's cradle when switched on therefore you have to hold it over you at all times, putting it down to wash your hair etc. So the first really frivolous thing I would buy would be a new car, followed by a family holiday for all my family in New Zealand.

So that's me all interviewed out, if you'd like to be interviewed by me here are the rules:

1. If you want to do this meme, leave me a comment saying, "Interview me." (If I don't have your email address already, either leave it in the comment or email me at beccy1@gofree.indigo.ie)

2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.

3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

I enjoyed reading this, I won't ask to be interviewed as I think you will be overwhelmed with (guinea pigs) oops I mean volunteers!

Words can't describe your greatness, Beccy. Giving away your symbol (of love and affection) in exchange for world peace should hail rulers of the world.

Your childhood fantasy reminds me of my frequent dreams where I find myself flying swiftly and peacefully in the air. If only we could in reality!

Most people have done this so Mum, so who knows.

I loved it as a child Hellojed, it got me to sleep just imagining it every night. I also loved winding my sister up.

Welcome Alfaking, *blushing furiously* it's hard to be great but I do my best!

I used to fantasize that I could fly also. I had moved so much and had friends all over the place being milatary kids all of us. I imagined I could fly to visit them and play!

You can interview me if you choose. I have a couple already but I like answering other peoples questions. I've had some pretty good ones so far.

Okay Emma Walker - you were very cruel to your sister, making her stay asleep in her bed while you got to explore the clouds.

And Charlotte Church - wasn't she that sweet little 16 year old with the very adult opera voice? What happened? Did she grow up and I missed it?

Thanks Terri, hopefully I'll come up with some different questions.

Karmyn, I had to get one over on her somehow, we were very competitive sisters!

Dear beccy. Ahh, nice answers. I can tell you like sipping on vodka. But.. NEW ZEALAND? Hello, it's COLD there. Move to Australia. We talk better, and it's more beautiful, with more snow, and more people per capita of sheep.

..and you could have blog get togethers with me Ms Walker...until I move to Queensland where there is more sun than NZ.

Admit it Beccy, you choose Emma because you like me so much.

No proper shower? I would DIE.

Oh, and I'm always thrilled to be interviewed. My problem is coming up with questions for the people I have to interview that haven't already been used over and over. I have to say Frannie and Catwoman did excellent jobs!

LMM, I thought NZ had great summers? Maybe I'll have to rethink my answer there.

A roast lamb blog get together with you sounds wonderful Barbara.

EJ, a housekeeper sounds great, more time to blog!

Pamela, DIY is Do It Yourself, ie get busy with the screwdriver, something the menfolk in my Irish family don't know much about.

Thanks Frannie, you gave me the great questions!

LBM, no more carbon emmissions if we could!

Shucks Emma, you found me out!
