Lazy summer days

Yesterday was the hottest day so far this year here in Dublin with temperatures reaching 22 oC. Joules, Mollie, Ben and myself headed off to the beach where it was lovely to see all the children in their swimming costumes enjoying the sand and the sea. I took the camera but alas the battery was dead so no pictures today! We then enjoyed our first BBQ of the year, Dillon invited three friends to dinner and we enjoyed chicken marinated in oil, lemon juice, garlic and basil, burgers and sausages with a pasta and bacon salad and crispy potato skins, followed by a sponge cake with cream and strawberries. I love BBQ's and as there's some salad left over we may just have another tonight!

Terri tagged me with this meme which has been doing the rounds.

That is so HOT!!!! We were warm down here in Cork, but nothing like that! Sounds like a fun day at the beach! I think we may try to take the dogs to the beach this afternoon. . .not that I want to clean up stinky sandy salty dogs, but DH wants to go. . .Yay for nice Irish weather!!!

Dear beccy. I always thought people were crazy for going to the beach when it was 22 degrees - that is, after all, the winter temperature of Brisbane. And yes, I will wore a coat and scarf. But, after surviving minus 17, I totally wanted to join you at the beach today!

Well Sabrina I'm have to admit that I'm not sure how accurate I am, that is what the local radio said it would be so I'm taking liberties!

Thanks a novelist.

LMM when you have children any day is good for the beach as long as it's not raining. There are some adults here who swim all year round (some in their birthday suits as well). There were lots of people in the sea yesterday and I was very overdressed on the beach in just my trousers and t-shirt!

Steffi, how funny to have our birthdays on the same day.

I can only wish for the sun right now and warm temps we still have only rain.

Your birthday is only a day before Kellys by the way!
