The Saga Continues...

Ooops I guess I hit the publish instead of save as draft button when I went to make dinner! I didn't even do a spell check! I was going to finish this tomorrow but it looks like Waterloo Road and Hotel Babylon aren't on telly tonight so I'll continue the saga.

I eventually got hold of Dillon's friend's older brother who was with them and he was able to tell me that he had walked Dillon to the dart station and that he was ok. A sheepish Dillon emerged from the next dart and the lesson he's learned is that he goes back to the friends house not travel on his own in the dark.

I was too stressed to even get mad at him so it was off to A&E at 9:15pm when Mollie should have been tucked up in bed. Not many cars in the car park which was a good sign. Even fewer people in the waiting room which was better. Unfortunately there was no receptionist so we had to wait half an hour before we could book in. We then had to wait to see a triage nurse who told us that Mollie may have to go the children's hospital (a long, long way away). After another long wait we got to see a lovely doctor. The doctor asked Mollie what had happened and Mollie said 'at gymnastics I jumped onto the horse' I was watching the doctor and she looked startled when she heard 'jumped onto the horse' I laughed and explained that the horse was in fact a wooden box not a horse that eats hay and says neigh.

We joined the queue for an x-ray which moved pretty quickly then back to the doctor for the results. The good news was that Mollie's toe was not broken just badly injured. The bad news was that she can't enter the Girls Brigade dance competition tomorrow night (she was leading from the front) and she can't go hiking at the weekend with the scouts. Mollie's toe was taped up and she was given a pair of crutches to use for the next few days but she should be right as rain by the end of next week! After paying the €60 bill we headed home at 11:30pm.

Mollie is very tired today!

Poor Mollie. I wish her a speedy recovery. Oh the horror of not knowing where your child is - I have several stories on that one.

beccy I was lucky and read it in one- I won't say anything about Dillon. Poor Mollie they will be lost without her a GB I bet she's upset having to miss all her favourite activities. We will need to have a photo posted of the strapped toe. give her my love xx

I'm glad both kids are safe (although slightly injured). I bet you are the one who needs some therapy now after all that.

I lost my son at the swimming pool once (he ran into the men's changing area and I was so afraid he had run back to the pool). children - ack

Thank your for finishing this! Geez you had us all worried.
We have had more then our share of lost kid stories maybe I will tell some some other time.
To bad Mollie hurt her toe and has to miss her activities. I know the pain though. I was a competitive gymnast when younger and had many of my share of injuries also some from the horse.

Very dramatically told in two segments.
Frightening for a mother, nonetheless. Poor you.
And Mollie. And naughty Dillon (I said it for you, Chris).

Poor Molly - and Mum.

Isn't health care free in Ireland?

Whew! Glad you got the almost all-clear on the toe! But so sad that Mollie will not get to do her activities this weekend!!!
Glad Dillon was okay. I can't imagine that. . .

Frannie the good news is that she can still go away with the scouts, her leader said someone will stay in the hostel with her while they go hiking, so she is pleased about that.

Barbara, prehaps you need to start a seperate blog with your tales, I'd be an avid reader.

Karmyn, that must have been quite scary losing your son at the pool. I tend to look on the bright side and Dillon now knows what to do should the situation ever occur again.

Sorry for getting you worried my4kids, must concentrate more when blogging. Maybe I'm not as good at multi tasking as I thought!

Well said Cookiecrumb!

Thanks Steffi, Mollie is taking Arnica tablets which seem to help with the pain.

Had a bad day at bowling on the wii yesterday Mum!

Ailsa, some healthcare is free here. If you are on a low wage all healthcare is free. Otherwise you have to pay for GP visists and A&E visits. Lots of people (us included) pay into a healthcare plan so that if you need to see a consultant or have hospital treatment you can go private and skip the queues. You can't claim A&E visits off this.

Sabrina, it's all ahead of you!

poor toe! is it going to go all black and gross so she can scare her friends?

Having an injured toe is much better than being seriously injured. She'll forget missing the dance competition soon. Glad everyone is 'ok.'

Just now going back and reading previous posts. I'm in for Fun Monday.

Such a relief to hear everyone's ok! Hope Mollie's toe feels better soon so she can jump back on the horse! :)

There's not much they can do for toes. Here's to a speedy recovery!

Asha, it gave me a fright when I opened my email to see all these comments on a post I 'hadn't' published!

Dodo it was pretty red and blue within hours. Currently it's all taped up so we can't see the colour. Knowing Mollie it will remain taped up for a while.

You're dead right Swampy!

Catwoman not sure I want her jumping back onto the horse, I know you have to put yourself back out there.

Amy I hope for Mollie's sake the recovery is indeed speedy.

Until you break a toe, you have no idea how badly it hurts! Been there, done that, a thousand years ago, but I still remember...plus, my toe is crooked :/.

GLAD to hear the ending of this...it was "better" than it could've been (if something more had happened w/Dillon). It was his good fortune you were "too stressed", lol.

Sorry about Mollie, though...:/.
