Wii injury #...lost count.

Mum challenged me to a ten pin bowling game. She annihilated me yesterday and doesn't like being beaten by me at tennis or golf. I was first to go, I lined up my mii with the ball, raised my arm behind me, took a step forward and released the ball. Then I tried to get up. Unfortunately I had pulled a muscle in my bum! I was stuck and with great pain I managed to straighten myself up and throw the next ball whilst holding on to my injured bum cheek. Not wanting to throw in the towel, did I ever tell you I was a bit competitive, I struggled through the rest of the game holding onto said bum cheek and scored a triple turkey, four strikes in a row and a couple of spares all whilst being in a lot of bum cheek pain.

Was it worth it? Yes, I won my first bowling game and scored 241 a new record in this house.

Mum was not best pleased!

My mum always claims not to be competitive yet during games gets very annoyed when things don't go her way.

All you can hear is softly muttered comments along the lines of "how easy?" or "Can I have a question from that box next time, I think they're the easy ones" etc.

She'd deny it later.

I think I would like to get one of those, but with my 'grace' I would surely have more injuries than a professional sports player!

Liam is getting one for his birthday. I suppose the chances are good that there will be injuries on my house.

fatman - our mother has never claimed to be not competitive, it would be difficult for her to get away with such an announcement, afterall she does have competitive written all over her face.

Ouch! What a pain in the butt....heh heh. But, so worth it!

I openly confess to being very competitive which is why I have a box full of tennis trophies. I am furious with myself today because I have let my wii age drop and I only have one more day of practise. Of course my daughters are not supposed to be competative but I assure you they are!!!!

Dangerous game Wii, i tried it at my "sisters" on xmas day, and fell over. Considering my incapacitated state, i think that was a result!!

I make sure i only do things that i will be the best at, then I don't need to worry about the competition. it's much more laid back that way. Better for my nerves.

According to my family I am very competitive and don't do well unless I win games. If I don't it is hard to get me to play again. I was told I was mean because I don't just let my kids win games and I just figured I was teaching them good sportsmanship, hehe, they had comments back on that.

That is funny though I would have never thought you could pull a muscle in your bum cheek playing video games. Of course I haven't played on the Wii yet.

Asha, I have a very sore right bum cheek, sitting is not pleasant!

Fatman, my Mum gets into such a sulk if she doen't win. always did when we were children but she can let her precious grandchildren win.

Lisa as long as you have a big room (unfortunately I don't) you will be ok.

I look forward to hearing about them Emma.

Sam I beat her at boggle last night, bowling today, not a happy mum!

Lol karmyn, still is a pain in the butt!

Mum, I've never claimed not to be competitive but I am a good loser, are you?

Will I earn good money up there slick?

Was that a sore result John?

But maybe a bit boring Sam?

Ha ha my4kids, you should try it, Ben (the youngest) is by far the best!

Beccy, when you can`t use your arms to break your fall, yes. Especially as i can`t get up on my own, then embarrassment sets in, that`s the p*sser!!

That's one heck of a score. I wish I bowled that well in real life. Still jealous of your Wii - LUCKY!

I think it will give me a false sense of security Mark because I suck at real life bowling but now think I'm quite good, (note swelling head)!

Eldest Son is currently saving his money to buy a Wii. MEanwhile, all the things that his money should go towards is being ferreted away in to Wii savings, and hubby and I seem to be dipping into our own pockets more regularly!! So perhaps inadvertently we are actually buying a Wii.

Do they come with a health warning though?

Sam: I think my Mum would still try to deny it, she'd probably claim the words "I am not" were written under her hair so the only bit you can read is "competitive" :)

Beccy: My Mum doesn't really sulk, she just acts disinterested as if she was not really trying. Like she let you win so in fact it's a moral victory for her.

I volunteer to massage your bum!!
How about it?

Maybe the injured bum was the reason you won? Like those right-handed golfers who golf better left handed. Maybe you bowl better when injured.

It's just a theory.

Fatman, I think your Mum has a different kind of competitiveness to mine!

My hubby has bagged that job Erik!!!

You may be right catwoman, it feels very strange stepping forward with my right leg instead of my left!

I could tell a story which would prove our mum is more competitive than anyone else on the planet, in fact I could tell more than one story, but I don't want to start a competition.

Plus she probably wouldn't ever speak to me again.
