Bargains

Mollie and Ben were off school, I was minding a friend of Mollies for the day and the weather sucked - gale force winds have blown all my bags of plastic recyclables all over the garden. Of course if I was more organised there wouldn't be 10 black sacks worth of plastic all over my back garden! Those of you who know my dirty suitcase secret will not be surprised at my ability to leave things but you'd be impressed with my toilet! Anyway enough of my ramblings I'm hear to tell you about my bargains.

As the children were off school and the weather was bad I took them to the cinema. What I mean by that is that I drove them there, paid for their tickets, sweets and drinks and settled them into their seats with strict instructions about what they were (sit still watching the film) and weren't (move, get separated, talk to anyone else) allowed to do. This gave me 95 minutes to bargain hunt in the sales. Not a lot of time I agree but enough for me to buy a beautiful sundress from Monsoon (€18); jeans (€5.95) and two t-shirts (€2.95 each) for Mollie in Zara. Also in Monsoon, which had 70% off, I bought lots of girly, sparkly bits like sequined bags, body jewelry, desk sets and beaded purses. These go into our 'present box' and when the children have parties to go to they have great fun choosing appropriate presents from the box for their friends. When I checked the timeI realised I had five minutes to get to the cinema which was the other side of the shopping centre so I sprinted through the centre and arrived in the cinema foyer just before the children. So not only did I come home with some bargains I also got some exercise, what can be better than that!

Sounds like the perfect day out. Hope the children are all over their injuries.

I won't mention the spell error, spacing etc. Sounds like you had some bargains. Did the children enjoy the film? You mentioned the WC!!!!!

Thank GOD! I was holding my breath until the end to see whether you are going to tell me that you ran and fell and didn't pick up the kids!:D:D

Oh I love Monsoon, and Emily loves Zara.

I've done that before now too, ensconced them in the Cinema to allow minimal time to shop - although as the biggies get a little older (eldest 17 this year), I now find that I usually ahvea babysitter on hand fot he littles (youngest 7 this year), so the necessity to offload temporarily becomes less necessary.....

They are thanks Barbara but no doubt will be suffering from more soon!

But you did Mum and I have just reread it. I spell checked it so the dictionary must have missed something although I don't know what and I only see one missed spaced. Please elaborate on the etc.

After a lovely day Asha I'm here at 1am suffering with a cold and sore throat and unable to sleep.

Sally this year has been the first time I've let Mollie watch a film without an adult. Herself and her friends love it as they have to be responsible yet are in a safe environment. I love not having to watch the cheesy films!

Jeans from Zara for $10...that is a bargain! I do the gift box as well, you can get some great deals throughtout the year. My friend has a gift closet...I am very jealous. (of both her space and extra money!)

i think your Mum is referring to the "jewelry/ jewellery" spelling options. I think that possibly "jewelry" is an Americanism. Bill Gates is American though, and he's doing quite well. so maybe that's where i'm going wrong. Maybe i'll adopt American spelling too. :)

I know I am in no position to criticize as my spelling and grammar is not brilliant. So I'm not being critical `(just helpful) I know you can spell 'jewellery' either way it just didn't look right, " I'm 'hear' = 'here''timeI= time I' This comes from having to review so many reports when I was at work. If I make mistakes I hope you would tell me. xx

I was pleased with the jeans Emma, they were reduced by 75%.I too would love a present cupboard but alas also lack the money and space.

Sally I knew what she was referring to but I didn't make that many mistakes.

Mum, I haven't altered my text and must be blind but I can't find the I here (I'm 99.9% I wouldn't make that mistake). I personally don't think there is much to gain from this type of crticism I remember reading one annoymous comment on Sally's blog and thought it a bit petty. I don't put you in this category as you've not criticised annoymously and don't mind being criticised but I choose not to. Bloggers are not profession writers and I see mistakes as making the blogger more personable ( not sure if that is a word)!

In my defence I was tired and coming down with this virus that seems to be spreading all over Dublin. Looks like I may loose some weight because you loose your appetite with it, therefore I did rush my blog as I wanted to post one so I spell checked it and didn't reread it. I wonder how timeI got past the spell check?

Catwoman I would have liked a pair of jeans myself at that price but no such luck.

Jeans are cheaper in the States too.

Another advantage.

You're a great writer Beccy. Stop putting yourself down!!!!! The only difference between professional and amateur writers is that one lot are paid, and have sub editors/ editors and the other lot aren't!

BTW, I realised today that we started our blogs on the same day, adn that we have the same number of profile views - almost exactly!! (As well as watching Neighbours and being addicted to blogging!)

EXCEPT I think that your blog name is MUCH better than my boring old one. Wish i ahd thought of something clever and cool like that......

That did occur to me Sam but I rose above pettiness.

Ah thank you Sally, I was never good at writing at school, unlike Sam, even though it was a favourite subject of mine.

Spooky us starting our blogs on the same day, you found me first, how did you find me?

When I came up with the name my family laughed at me, but I really like it!

You are both being very mean to me

I am not Mum, if you give criticism you should be able to take it. I was just expressing my viewpoint.

Love you lots xxxx
