An open letter to Deborah

Dear Deborah

I was so excited when I saw your comment on my post last week.

Yes, I could save my beloved jumper.

I went out and bought a big bottle of conditioner which smelt yummy. Not only was my jumper going to fit me again but it would smell of lavender as well.

I closely followed your instructions, I filled the sink with lukewarm water and the bottle of conditioner. I soaked the jumper for about an hour then I pulled and yanked gently stretched my jumper as much as I could.

It looked bigger, I was very pleased and I laid it out flat to dry.

It was slightly bigger.

The sleeves are perfect.

Unfortunately the body is still way too short for me (and for Mollie) so it looks like my jumper will be consigned to the bin.

Thank you for the tip Deborah, I really wish it had worked for me but I guess my jumper was the wrong material.

AAAH! NO! Sorry Beccy - well at least you tried! It's sort of hit or miss, but I figure if it's that or the bin it's worth a shot at least! It saved my favourite Tommy Hilfiger sweater that I got in the states last summer for a mere $45 and could replace here at Liffey Valley for €130, but it doesn't always work. So sorry! :-(

Have you tried hunching over when you wear it?

What a shame Beccy - bad luck.

You could wear it in Winter under a big coat if it still stretches a bit.Atleast you tried to save it!

well it was worth a try~ I thought showing a bit of flesh was fashionable!

Ha, ha, lol at Chris' comment!
Too bad, at least you tried, and you'll have an idea what to do next time (hopefully there won't be one, though!)

too bad!!! I had my fingers crossed that it would work!

I'm sorry! :( I was hoping it would work too! Maybe you could cut off the sleeves and just wear those with a T-shirt? you could start a new trend! (although, it sounds like something we would have done in the 80's...)

It was definitely worth a try.

bummer. Well - at least you gave it a try and now know how to do it in case anything else shrinks a bit.

I wonder if it works on pants. Maybe I won't have to buy any maternity ones - HA!

What a neat idea though. I've never heard of that.

bummer. but the crop look is kind of fashionable now....

Hey that's a cool suggestion. I wonder if it's work on some of my t-shirts that have shrunk in the dryer. Width wise they're fine - they got shorter in the length. One of these days I'll have to give the conditioner thing a try.

I would try that - but my clothes are all to small because of baked potato and sour cream.. that kind of stuff
