Amy is hosting today's Fun Monday and challenged us to :
"
I would like to say that I can't take part in this weeks challenge as my wardrobe and drawers are full of only tasteful clothing...but I'd be lying.
When I opened my wardrobe to look for horrible stuff this jumped out at me, Mollie also picked it as the worse thing in my wardrobe. In my defence I have never worn it so I can retain some street cred! I bought it back in 2002 about two days before we headed off to Florida so it is a prime example of why shopping at the last minute without thinking is a bad idea. You may think it looks pretty but the shape around the chest is sooo unflattering (basically your boobs fall out) and it gapes around the sleeves!
Unfortunately I have no excuse for these (very) fake leather trousers but they were fashionable back in the late 90's. I wore them loads and thought I looked pretty hot in them. The only reason I keep them is that they may come in handy for a fancy dress party one day.
When we were discussing the theme this week Mollie suggested I post a picture of her 'canters'. These tracksuit trousers are all the rage amongst the youth of Ireland and are the most disgusting, unflattering pair of trousers I have seen in a long time. I've yet to see a child or adult in a pair that suits them. My apologies if you own, like or wear these, I am just posting my opinion on them. The fact that I allow Mollie to have a pair reminds me that I am a good mother, rising above my choices and letting her express herself (at least that's what I tell myself when she wears them and I'm grinning and bearing it). For some strange reason it takes them a long time to come through the laundry system but don't tell Mollie that.
This leads us on to Dillon, I quite like his taste in clothes (black, band t-shirts, black, band t-shirts and this coat) what I have issues with are his desire to wear holey socks even when I regularly buy him new ones, (Dillon gets this trait from his father).
I hope this delve into my clothes most disgusting don't put you off too much or make you gag on your food but come back tomorrow where the post will be much more delightful.

Yikes!! Floral stuff!! Mind you, with you in it, it would most likely look sexy!
You're only saying that Erik because my boobs would be hanging out!!!
We're sure you'd look good in the it - even if your boobs were hanging out a bit!
(Although this opinion is from a male point of view, so treat with caution!)
Hope you've had a nice Easter!
I kind of like that shirt....:).
But those pants, I will pass!
wow. pleather pants. you know, you toss those things into a landfill and they don't degrade for 10,000 years....
HAHAHA!!! There is nothing to hold the boobies in!!!What the?!!!!
And the last one!! What is it?!Looks like rag.Your mum's shirt is lot better than your's , Beccy!!!Honestly!!;D
It was fun,thank you.
That top does look gorgeous, I would never had known it was so unpractical!
I also can't stand those tracksuit trousers, a flatmate of mine used to live in them, you'd hear her a mile away when the elasticated bobbles at the ends would scratch across the floor...
the shirt looks nice-- you should have posted a pic with you in it, so that we could see what was wrong with it.
You are a very good mother for allowing Mollie to wear bad pants! :)
That first shirt has great potential. Too bad it didn't fit better.
I hope you had a Happy Easter :)
My Fun Monday clothes would be old concert T-shirts, and leather skirts that haven't fit in many years, LOL.
No T-shirt or sweatshirt: you're breaking the trend that I've come across so far.
Ha ha. Pleather pants.
I bought a pair of super cheap, crappy, yet *real* leather pants back in the late 90s; they were so chintzy they looked like fake leather. I was insulted when someone asked me if they were pleather, not realizing that pleather was actually more fashionable than real leather.
I'm trying not to talk about your boobs.
Mr. X you'd be surprised but yes I guess the males of this planet wouldn't mind!
Are you sure Amy?
I didn't know that when I bought them Laurie, I wish I had and I may not have purchased them!
Asha that rag is one of Dillon's socks and it went straight in the bin after I took the photograph!
Hellojed the top is so unflattering! I'm glad someone shares my opinion on the trousers.
Frannie I won't even wear it so no picture of me in it!
Kila, I keep a lot of stuff in the hope I'll fit into them again!
Yey hey Anvilcloud I like to be different!
Cookiecrumb, there ain't nothing wrong with my boobs so feel free to comment away!!!
The shirt looks nice on the hanger anyway. I've always wanted a pair of leather pants (once I've gotten down to my skinny self, of course).
and holey socks - I have a few of those.
I thought the first pic. was a pinny! No wonder your boobs fall out!
Good job i can't smell Dillons socks via the 'net!
So this is what I have to look forward to when my kids grow up?
beccy hideous top. I seem to remember you actually looked good in those fake leather trousers. I can't believe how fast Dillon gets through his socks. I'm glad Mollie is allowed to to wear her canters just think back to your choices at that age.
Please never combine the top with the pants. Also I am right there with you on the clothes that you let your kid wears that you hate. My son loves camoflage and I want to rip it off him whenver he comes out in it. I don't buy it, his paternal grandmother does. Her argument, "Boys like camoflage." My arguement, "Boys also like mesh, doesn't mean they should wear it."
Um, pleather? Even if you do look hot...um, well...
However, a shirt designed for boobs to fall out is Oh. So. Sexy!!
But, really, who am I to judge?
I just got rid of a very similar-looking pair of (very cheap but real) leather pants before we moved here. The blouse is cute, but not if it doesn't fit well--bleh! I've noticed the obsession of canters as well. . .fortunately they do not come in my size right now. . .
I wish I had boobs that would fall out of something in my closet. Those pants...Yikes!
The boys always have holey socks and usually white socks that are not so white any more even with any amount of bleaching but they won't wear colored socks.
I am not sure yet what to put in for my fun monday today I am still trying to think of it so it may be late.
Dear beccy. That's not really fair on that pretty top. It's no embarrassing in its own right. Not it's fault that it was cut shite! The pants on the other hand..!
we're on our 2nd batch of flapjacks so to heck with all that stuff in my closet. I'm going to visit a tent maker.
Funny pictures.I´m really stupid because I forgot at this time the "Fun Monday"...
Karmyn, when you've found you're skinny self prehaps you can help me find mine!
That would be a very pretty pinny John!
CPA that and the fact that they forget where the laundry basket and washing machine is until they have no clean clothes then expect you to sprinkle fairy dust so their clothes are clean and ready to wear now!
Mum, pink, shiny, satin trousers come to mind!
Liza, I tend to let them wear whatever they want as there are more important things to say no to.
Who indeed Stephanie, who indeed!
Sabrina I think the Canterbuys look even worse on adults!
Swampy prehaps I could send you the top and you could see if it would help your boobs fall out!!!
Terri, Dillon only wears black socks which is great.
...are gross little miss moi!
Pamela, I can recommend a good tent maker, complete with pockets for storing those flapjacks!
Steffi why don't you sign up for next weeks Fun Monday?
the shirt does look nice on a hanger...lol :)
and it's funny about those fashionable ugly trousers....
I once bought a gaudy hideous shirt and mum hauled me back to the shop and made me change it for something more tasteful.
SHe said it was disgusting.
She was right of course, but I was peeved at the time nonetheless.
I was really embarassed being taken into the shop by my mother to change it, but I guess she would have been even more embarassed walking along the street with her daughter wearing such a thing.
Nice socks!! BOYS!!!!
I think the shirt looks kind of pretty....:)
Who knows pleather might have a come back! HA!
