Fun Monday #7

Min over at Mama Drama is hosting this weeks Fun Monday and has come up with what I think is the hardest challenge yet:

'This is my challenge to you. Write the worst opening sentence that you can come up with.

But wait...there's more!

You may accompany this atrocity of the literary word with a photo of your setting, a character or a bit of action that relates to the opening line or (for those who do not have a camera) a written description of same. Be creative. If your work is set in L.A. but you have no photo of this town, perhaps you can build a mock-up from Kleenex boxes and Dixie cups. If the action requires a rhinoceros, perhaps the cat will allow you to strap an ice-cream cone to its nose.'

Before you go any further remember this is meant to be bad, I only hope it is bad enough!

I decided not only to write the worst opening sentence I could but to write a book in one sentence.

Did I succeed?

You decide.

The Mystery of the Dead Body.

'Hmmmm' said Detective Inspector Ila Solvit 'the murder of this beautiful, popular, fun loving, soul seeking, party girl is a tricky case, let me look at the evidence...

ahhh, a bullet through the forehead...interesting...interesting...the person who committed this atrocity, who ended this life so prematurely, who saw fit to decide when to pull the plug on living is...you

Iva Dunnit, why you've still got the murder weapon in your ahhh' as Detective Inspector Solvit fell to the ground Iva Dunnit walked off into the sunset never to be seen again.

Thank you Mum, my no.1 fan.

Thanks Jenny, we had fun with the pictures.

Not sure that blood oozing murders are typical me Steffi but I'll take it as a compliment!

Thanks Amy, I thought it was a bit stupid!

I knew that fake blood I bought many moon ago would be useful one day Sally!

Min, you're so sweet. I was a bit in awe of the cleverness of Willowtree's sentence. I opted for plain awful. As for next weeks challenge after reading some of your posts you'll find it a doddle!

What a perfect compliment, thanks Nikki.

Thanks Frannie, why don't you sign up for next week.

Not quite as nauseous as yours Sabrina.

Thanks Asha, I'm glad to put my creative talents to good use!

Bad, Lisa, very bad!

Ahhhh, I think you succeeded--an entire book, complete with pictures, and one (dreadful) tongue-in-cheek sentence. Touche'!

Did you pay union wages to those wonderful actors?

They are going to want to be in the food pictures now... you've set a precedent.

I needed this smile today. I feel like the 2nd picture... except I'm still alive and in pain.

Thanks Bethany, the pictures were fun to do.

Pamela it depends whether a chocolate muffin constitutes union wages, what do you think?

Yey Stephanie I've written a doozie without knowing what a doozie is!

Ktrdn, the actress is my daughter and she loves to perform unlike my sons!

That was great, err I'm mean awful! I loved the pictures, they helped take my mind off the bad sentence.
