Second Note to Self

When you are catching up on reading blogs while you are cooking lunch make sure you put said lunch into the oven to cook!

Good one, recently I put something into microwave to heat up but forgot to turn it on, but then I'm old enough to be forgetful.

But remember to set the timer.

How long did you wait until you had realised Mum?

That's right Babara, my old oven didn't have a timer and more than a few things got forgotten. When I got a new oven I made sure it had a timer and always use it. Sometimes other members of my family turn it off without telling me or taking the food out of the oven, that happened before Christmas and Ben's lunch was burned.

i put a loaf of no knead bread to bake in a cooling oven.

it wasnt that i forgot to turn it on per se, but the lid of the le creuset was so hot I dropped it as I was putting the bread in the oven and apparently it nudged the dial and turned the oven off. I didn't notice til I went to get the bread out, only to find it hadn't cooked. Duh!

the other thing I do is set timer, come up to the computer, not hear the timer, which turns off after a while, and the food goes cold again.

so long as it's not salad! enid once spent all afternoon making stock, and then got a sieve out and carefully poured it down the sink, keeping all the scraggy old bones and vegetables.

Prehaps you need a baby moniter to hear the timer mum!

Enid lol, even my 13 year old laughed, it's good to know I'm not the only one to do stupid things!
